thoughts on my generation

i'm writing this because i saw a blog post on the current state of social media. i wanted to share my thoughts, the post was really insightful and put to words what i had been feeling for quite a while now.

i'm turning 25 soon, so i believe i am what is called a zoomer. (funny term but its like saying the first wave of gen z)

growing up, things were quite different from what they are now, everything from interactions to the way people talked was loads different.

people don't seem to realize that their actions and beliefs are influenced by factors such as social media, the news, youtube, etc.

its to the point where nobody my age and younger makes any actual sense when they speak. i cannot keep up with the current language used because of the amount of time it takes for it to switch and become 'old' does not allow me to adapt to it.

we are being influenced by so many different factors outside of our own circles that it is completely inorganic to the human psyche.

i honestly believe it is damaging. as i stated in my about me, i'm a stay at home mom, and the way things are now worry me, i worry about my kids future.

its not the speech that troubles me though, it's the apparent lack of caring for any sort of tradition, (to the point of apparent disdain), the disregard for life and the future, and the absolute acceptance of any trend that comes along on various social media sites.

anyway, i sound like an old man rambling about how much gen z sucks. but, i can't help but wish things were like the way they were before. when i was young and stupid and ignorant to the different shades of life that truly matter.

to cut it short, the quality of the culture has gone significantly down these past few years, i hope the country i reside in currently takes a turn for the better soon, rather than for the worst.
